Hope for Our Time # 1

Greetings. Fire season is over and so is our summer. Let's count our blessings. God is good! We have peace, no serious weather problems, health care and enough food. Some of the rest of the world is not so fortunate. There are floods, earthquakes, mud slides, crops lost to weather conditions, and drought.

With school starting I see kids of all ages with back packs. What all do they carry? There are children with back problems now, how much stuff do they need?

Not all problems are visible. How many pack unseen problems such as money issues, home problems?

There is news of crops failing. Could we run into food shortages? Jesus said of the time of the end there would be famines.

A person goes missing then the body is found. Who did it? Is the culprit in the neighbourhood? These things cause fear. Fear creates problems.

What about our health? Have we problems that affect our health and happiness? Jesus, when on earth, understood problems and He invited people to come to Him. He said, “Come unto me all ye who are weak and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”

Just maybe, in these times that seem to be getting worse, it would be a good idea to look at the good book and take Jesus up on His generous offer to ease our load. He understands how heavy a load we can carry for no one ever carried a heavier load than He.
