God's Secrets Revealed
Time is moving on this February. Last week we talked about life in the new earth. After God had recreated things here for His people to live we talked about building houses for us to live and the prophet Isaiah says, talking of the people, “they shall plant orchards and shall eat the fruit of them.”
When we look at what we are told, God, through the prophet is saying we will be real people as we are today living in a real place. The big difference will be that there will be no sin and no death. The prophet says they shall love and enjoy the work of their hands.
When God created this world it took six days to complete what He wanted for man to enjoy. Then He took and rested on day seven. Not that He was tired but God wanted to take a day to look at what had taken place. The moon's movement around the earth was to be a month of time and one of earth's revolutions on it's axis was to be a day and the movement of the earth around the sun set in place the yearly cycle.
There was nothing in nature that established the week. Only God's setting it aside as a memorial of creation would represent a week so that man would not forget who the Creator is. (& that man is God's creation)
In the new earth the same order will be used. In Isaiah 66:22-23 it says, “For as the new Heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall come to pass. That from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, the Lord”
It is difficult to picture what this will be like. The whole earth coming to their city homes on Friday evening before the Sabbath begins and meeting to welcome the Sabbath with singing and praising. What will the singing be like when all have good voices? He says that all flesh will come to worship. People from all nationalities and ways of life who have learned of God's salvation will be there and worship together.
Sabbath service...I believe that Jesus will be the main speaker for He was a good preacher and story teller when He was here on earth. People who have heard Him said things like, “Never a man spake like this man speaks.” and, “He was so good and easy to listen to. There may be other speakers that will tell of their experiences and how God dealt with them.
Stories Like Jacob fleeing from His brother and when night came upon him, finding himself in a desolate place where wild animals roam. He lay down to sleep with a stone for a pillow. He dreamed that he saw a ladder reaching up to Heaven. There were angels moving up and down the ladder with Jesus sitting at the top. He thought he was alone but Jesus was watching.
How wonderful it will be to talk to Jesus, the man who did so much for us.
I invite you to come and hear me, Pastor Herman present the message of hope this Saturday, February 13th at 11am at 2190 Granite Avenue.
If you have any questions I would be glad to help you find answers from God's word. We always have lunch after service. A nice, vegetarian lunch is prepared and ALL are welcome to eat and enjoy fellowship with us.
Sunday mornings at 11am we open our door to our church where we have prepared an nice lunch for the less fortunate. You may like to come and see what we are doing to help our community. We usually serve 90+ people and some take another meal to go. We meet at 9:00am to get things ready and we can always use another set of hands.
It would be nice to meet with you and talk about Bible studies. I will be discontinuing my weekly column shortly. The world is in rough shape. This is a good time to learn more about our wonderful Saviour and His plan for His people. We need to learn how to live the way God wants us to in these terrible times.
